The Dolphin House Community Development Association (CDA) is the
locally based and operated Community Development Project that
co-ordinates a number of community development services and
activities.
Dolphin House and Park is a Dublin City Council estate located in
Dublin 8. It is Dublin's largest remaining public housing flat
complex. Built in **Apply on the website**, it sits on **Apply on the
website**.5 acres and comprises of **Apply on the website** homes.
These homes are made up of **Apply on the website** flats in 6 blocks
with **Apply on the website** senior citizen units in Dolphin Park.
For the last number of years, Dolphin House and Park has been
undergoing an extensive regeneration process. The Dolphin House CDA
serves the Dolphin Community in the context of this social and
physical change. It supports residents to build resilience and help
reduce the negative impacts of the regeneration on the community.
It aims to ensure that lifelong learning opportunities are available
and accessible to all members of the community. Residents are also
supported to manage their physical, social and mental health needs to
achieve positive wellbeing through preventative and remedial
strategies.
Dolphin CDA is currently seeking two new staff members to support them
to meet their objectives:

JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE;
To develop and implement a community health work plan for the area of
Dolphin House, Dolphin Park and the wider Rialto area, that reflects
the goals and themes of healthy Ireland and other health policies.
Work within the structures of Dolphin House Community Development
Association and as part of the staff team in the Dolphin Community &
Health Centre.
DUTIES.
* Participate in Dolphin House CDA Structures including Sub-groups
and working groups
* Comply with Dolphin House CDA Policies, Procedures & Protocols
* Participate in the development of Dolphin Annual Health Plan
* Develop, facilitate and evaluate community health groups and
activities
* Maintain records on attendance at meetings and groups and topics
covered.
* Organise community events, activities and trips
* Provide information & support to local residents
* Provide outreach to residents in Dolphin Park, Dolphin House and
the wider Rialto area.
* Liaise with Voluntary, Community and Statutory Agencies
* Identify and access relevant funding
* Link with the Rialto Health and Wellbeing Strategy
LINE MANAGEMENT & ACCOUNTABILITY
* Provide verbal and written reports as appropriate
* Participate in regular supervision
* Identify training needs with the line Manager and participate in
training as appropriate to the role.
* Manage workload and time in an efficient and effective manner.
* Undertake other duties as requested by line manager from time to
time.
HOURS OF WORK

* There will be evening and weekend work for which there will be
time off in lieu.

Our D8 men?s Shed is a community based project, where men come
together to learn, share skills and support each other while engaging
in activities such as woodwork, gardening, carpentry and community
work.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE;
To develop and implement a work plan for the men?s shed that
reflects the goals and themes of Healthy Ireland and the Irish Men?s
Shed Association. Work within the structures of Dolphin House
Community Development Association and as part of the staff team in the
Dolphin Community & Health Centre.
DUTIES.
* Work with the D8 Men?s Shed
* Comply with Dolphin House CDA Policies, Procedures & Protocols
* Participate in the development of Dolphin Annual Health Plan

* Facilitate group work and evaluate activities

YOU WILL NEED
* A qualification in community development
* Experience of working in a social care setting
